This Car Mounts give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great!
A little plasticky, but just what I needed. mixed with a short Garmin ball mount, my phone docking is a one-handed act of awesomeness.
2. Handy AND Hands Free
This unit is doing quite well and even stays mounted to the windshield in the Texas sun - so far!
The spring mount is tight, and requires two hands to mount up the phone. However, it is lose enough to
remove single handedly when exiting the car. The bottom has the ability to accomodate power cords, which
I've not had to use yet. Overall, works as advertised and is compact enough to take on travel so I can mount
it easily in a rental car to get my travel direction while remaining "heads' up".
Need more appointment... ?
Okay idea, not executed very well.
The dock didn't fit any of my charging cables -- I tried three different ones, and the system it uses to integrate into the dock itself didn't accept them. Also, the suction cup wouldn't attach to my dash (if you use a stock iPhone cable, it works fine; if you have an aftermarket charger, then good luck).
I tried two other docks and found on the Aduro U-GRIP Universal Dashboard Windshield Car Mount for Smart Phones, Apple iPhone 5, iPhone 4 / 4S, Samsung Galaxy S2 / S3, Galaxy NOTE, Motorola Droid RAZR / MAXX, HTC EVO 4G, HTC One X, LG, (Black) worked best: it grips my slightly textured and curved dash, it holds the phone on the sides so it won't interfere with attaching cables, and it works with any phone model.
