1. Stopped working after 1 week
I used this for one week and the charging socket stopped working. I'm on the road a lot and this looked like a helpful accessory. However, it was a total waste of money since it only worked for one 4 hour trip and then the charging socket stopped working! I can't even use it as a holder, since I need to have a good charger in the cigarette lighter slot.
I highly recommend you do not waste your money on this!

2. Do not waste your money!
Bought this in hopes of finding a holder that would work for both my phone and my wife's. I have the Galaxy Note 2 and my wife has the Galaxy S3. The holder opens up wide enough to hold either phone, however when you close the holder tight to hold the phone it only stays tight for a few seconds then it slowly opens back up. Not very useful if I have to keep one hand on it to keep my phone from falling out of the holder. The support arm is also a little on the wobbly side, it moves around. This is just not worth the money or aggravation.

This is a great product
I love the design and how this works. The only problem I had is it can be a little top heavy and when you make a slightly hard turn the phone kind of turns down. I was able to take a coat hanger and make a tie to the dashboard that keeps it in place. ( It does not look like a quick fix.. hehe It acts as a stabilizer and keeps it from sliding down)

Works great. I have an older model car (1998 to be exact). Tested it on the Galaxy S3 and hubby is satistied with his Father's Day gift. If you have a heavy cellphone cover, it may cause it to need adjustment before you place them on. Weight plays a roll but it works also on my Note 2. Thank you.

2. It works - but with issues
it does the job. Acting as a holder and a charger is nice. But there are a couple of pitfalls, one of them rather significant for me. While the hold on the lighter connection is fairly tight, it's not as tight as it could be. I understand there are options out there that allow you to turn a screw to tighten this area. This does have a screw tightener but it doesn't handle this spot, rather it tightens the connection higher up where the holder attaches to the snake cable. The more significant issue for me is that the red led light never goes out, or at least not that I can see. If your auto provides power to the lighter without the key in the ignition (mine does) the red led light will continue to glow when you get out of the care and, presumably forever ... or until it eventually empties the battery. I suspect the battery drain is very slight ... but still - why would you want that at all. I will continue to use it but I will remove it from the lighter connection each time I...

This item is JUNK. Don't waste your money. I used it for about a month and at first it seemed like it might be ok but then the thing fell apart. It would not stay in the lighter and then finally the metal end of the charging insert just came right off. I don't usually do reviews but I couldn't let this one go.

This mount is awesome quality, it replaced a mount I got for $30 and this one is better quality. From the moment you get the box in your hands it feels amazing. Holds Galaxy S2 ATT version secure, no wobbles. Wish it was tad taller, but still works great. Use it in 3500 4WD Diesel, plenty of bouncing going on. Holds it strong and secure, bought one for the wife's car as well. Would rebuy again

The suction cup hold great, but the actual part that holds the phone will not stay secure. You can unloosen the nut and re-adjust. Will hold for 10 second then droop back down. Phone flops around and points at the floor, defeats purpose of mount. When the suction mount is fully deployed, it comes apart it seems at base.

The Best One I've Used
After spending a ton of money for a good stand I've finally found a good one. I can't say how much I like this product, my phone is secure I can rotate from landscape to portrait with out taking my eyes off the road. After about 5 different stands some costing twice as much I can finally say this is a keeper.

1. Longevity issues
At first I was quite satisfied with the product. The S3 has an absolutely horrible interface that pops up when the "car dock" mode starts, but that is no fault of the iBolt.

However, after several weeks I started noticing during long trips that my phone was draining battery and not charging as it should have been. When I started paying closer attention I noticed that the connection from the dock to the phone via the USB cable would intermittently terminate. If I bypassed the built-in cable and plugged an external cable into the phone while it's in the dock, I do not see this problem. I only see the problem when the phone is connected directly to the dock.

And then finally, the phone would no longer recognize the connection to the dock at all. This has been a rapid degrading in functionality of the iBolt dock. I still use it as a physical holder of the phone, but for the price charged for this item, I need more value.

- the "car mode" on the phone is just that "a mode".
- We generally associate "car mode" with a special car user interface.
This is really just a car dashboard app that gets started when you enter car mode.
The one that comes with the S3 is miserable (it just starts S-voice asking you what you want to do)

But the Android Play / Market easily comes to the rescue. Just search for "car home" and you will
be presented with a few good options. I use one...

Fantastic dock for the Samsung Galaxy S3
What can I say? This is a great car dock. Very sturdy, fits the phone nicely with or without case, and plugging in the phone activates 'car mode' (do yourself a favor and get the Car Dock Ultra app to replace S-Voice).

Coming from a former Droid X user who was used to having a phone-specific plug-and-play dock that 'just worked', I had high expectations for car docks. I wanted one that would do the same thing for my GS3 that the old Motorola dock did for the Droid X. This dock does it.

One cool thing to note / minor complaint: the dock leaves the camera exposed so you it can theoretically work as a dash cam. However when the USB cable is plugged in, the picture will be upside-down. This is not iBolt's fault. Apparently when the phone is in car mode it 'locks' the horizontal orientation for reasons known only to Samsung. And the iBolt is holding the phone the 'wrong way'. This is an amazing product. No questions about it. Installs in 5 seconds, holds firm even on a non-smooth dashboard. As for holding the actual smartphone, I have an Samsung S4 with an extremely heavy duty aluminum case on it. The phone probably weights double if not more its original weight with the case on and the claw grip on this product holds it in place without a problem. Once the clip is tightened it is still easy to rotate the phone for different viewing angles. While driving on even bumpy dirt roads the stand stays solid and hold the phone without a problem.

2. As expected, no complaints
This product will suction to the dash of my Honda Civic with out any problem. I can get some great angles on it that other mounts simply cannot do. Would highly recommend this!

Strong hold on dashboard
This is my third or fourth attempt at finding a good car mount for my phone. This works fantastic! Even in the heat it didn't fall off the dashboard. The textured dashboard! It held firm. The grip on the phone takes two hands to get the phone in it. But it doesn't ever fall out which is all I really care about. I highly recommend this!!

very simply, this mount has rounded clips made specifically for the earlier iPhone models, not for the square edges of the 4.

if you don't believe me just check out the video for this product and you'll see, it's not the iPhone 4 in the demonstration.

that said does this mount work with the iPhone 4? yes, but not without complications. if you put your 4 in this mount without a case, it will eventually slide out through the bottom with each bump you hit in the road. if you have a hard plastic outer case, it will do the same, just a little more slowly. a soft plastic outer case will not slide, but will be pushed around a little every time you take it in and out of the mount.

i've been using this mount with my iPhone 4 for several months now, with an Incipio Silicrylic case (the best iphone 4 case available) and my homegrown solution was to apply electrical tape along the interior sides of the hard plastic clips to provide adequate friction between...

2. Kensington K39256US car mount is great
Just received the mount and its higher quality than what I expected. Definitely not your cheap dealxtreme/meritline build. Iphone 4 fits secure into the friction mount and rotates from portrait to landscape with secure clicks. Mount can be oriented any direction by ball and socket joint which can be loosened/tightened by the turning the wheel.

I prefer the vent mount as a windshield mount will leave behind a telltale circle when taken off inviting break ins. Vent mount is nicely thought out with spring mounted vent hooks so you don't sit there trying to force the thing when taking it off the vent risking damage to the vent/hooks.

Windshield arm is about 10" long and made of rigid plastic material which can be shaped to any angle. I tested it by mounting on a sliding glass door and suction is rock solid and I could not budge it without trying to tear it off by force. One possible issue is there maybe some play on bumpy roads since the arm is quite long. I got...

Quality vent mount, though clip is stiff
I bought this to be used as a vent mount for my iPhone 4. This device is made of good quality plastic and the vent mount works very well. The vent clips have springs in them so they lock in pretty well. The iPhone 4 fits easily (it's just a clip, I think it can fit many similar sized devices). Once in, you can rotate the iPhone 4 horizontally or vertically.
However, I found that the iPhone clips are pretty stiff. In the video, it seems effortless to clip in the iPhone with one hand. But when I try to push the phone in, I need to use a lot of force, and usually I'm afraid I'll break the vents or the mount. So generally, I use two hands, one hand to pull one of the clips back, and then the other to put the phone in and out. Because of this, I think I would've preferred a "cradle-like" design, so I could just easily/quickly drop in the phone and take it out. When I'm driving, it's dangerous to need two hands to put my phone on the mount or take it off for whatever reason.

iOttie, I mean you guys no harm as this is definitely a decently built product and I appreciate your excellence in response to customer complaints. Just to let you and other readers know beforehand, I'm not the crazy exception to the crowd who just wants to complain to be heard. I (like most of you) spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to find the best phone holder for my bike. After the positive reviews, I went with this iOttie to hold my brand new iphone 4s. After hitting one bump at ~10-15 mph, my phone flew out. A few months ago I was on the hunt for a device like this. I like going out on my bike riding without a destination in mind and often ended up in areas where I couldn't easily find my way back home. I always had my smartphone on me but the GPS is not as useful when kept in your pocket, I needed to watch the screen as I paddled. Back when I started looking for these, there was only one model available, very bulky, expensive and it got low reviews from users cause phones were flying after hitting minor bumps on the road. The iOttie is cool and affordable, there is nothing better around the web for the same price! Held iPhone in place for 275 mile trail bike ride
I will start by saying that I do not write reviews that often, but I feel like I have to for the iOttie. Based upon some other feedback, we had some concerns about this product actually holding the phone in place. Happy to report that it held my son's iPhone in place on his crosstrail bicycle during a very bumpy, 275 mile, 4-day ride along the Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Canal trails.

Don't drive without it
Innovative design that is perfect for the Samsung Galaxy S3, but looks like it will fit other phones as well. grips securely, will mount on dash or on windshield (I like it on the glass). Hold securely enough that punching the screen to select stuff won't disturb the mount. Designed so that the power attachement that comes with it (if you feel you need it) hangs down and the volume buttons easily accessible. Previously tried to find a place for the S3 while navigating and putting it into cup holders was just ridiculous! And dangerous because it forced eyes off road.

And when Samsung gets better at the SIRI thing so you can really just talk to it and get something intelligent going, the mount is going to be just where you want it. I had the original Droid which came with a great vehicle mount from Motorola that would fit only it, and this is easily better. The one button release is a great idea.

I have loved this particular holder since they started making it, very versatile, but the base was a new thing for me (usually did the suction cups), had to get this for my new job and I could not stick things on the wind-shield of the work truck, this allowed me to put the phone where I can see it without losing sight of the road, and still out of the way of everything I need to do, it isn't taking up a drink holder; or an air-vent or obstructing the view in the wind-shield, if you need a universal mount this is it.

Great iPhone holder in the car
I bought this as the main part of a "stealth" stereo system in my son's old car. All the speakers are pretty much hidden and we still have the original AM Radio installed (and it works). Our entire system runs off an iPhone in this holder. Just bend it out of the way when not in use and throw a towel or shirt over it - you'll never know it's there.

Overall construction seems very good and it comes with both a solid floor mount and seat-bolt mount. It's not "rock solid" of course, being at the end of an 18" goose neck, but it holds the iPhone quite securely and right where we need it for easy access when driving.

A few of the "lock down" points are plastic or depend on small screws, which might be a concern if your constantly changing the position and orientation of your holder. That's the only reason I gave it 4 starts instead of 5 stars.

Overall - highly recommended for a car application (though you might need the longer version for a truck.)

This is an amazing product. No questions about it. Installs in 5 seconds, holds firm even on a non-smooth dashboard. As for holding the actual smartphone, I have an Samsung S4 with an extremely heavy duty aluminum case on it. The phone probably weights double if not more its original weight with the case on and the claw grip on this product holds it in place without a problem. Once the clip is tightened it is still easy to rotate the phone for different viewing angles. While driving on even bumpy dirt roads the stand stays solid and hold the phone without a problem.

Strong hold on dashboard
This is my third or fourth attempt at finding a good car mount for my phone. This works fantastic! Even in the heat it didn't fall off the dashboard. The textured dashboard! It held firm. The grip on the phone takes two hands to get the phone in it. But it doesn't ever fall out which is all I really care about. I highly recommend this!!

The Satechi Universal Smartphone CD Slot Mount sold by Satechi arrived very quickly. The mount is made out of quality plastic, no assembly is required. It took me 5 seconds to install it. I did rotate the mount slot 180 degrees to have an access to my radio buttons/presets. I still do listen to the news over the radio while driving. I don't use the CD player at all.
I really like it how the wing locks into the CD slot with a single locking lever flip. I didn't have to use any of the additional three sub pads supplied; it sits inside tightly right out of the box. I posted some pics. Sorry they aren't crisp; I made the pics inside of a garage after I received the mount. I will update my review after few months of usage.

The Satechi Universal Smartphone CD Slot Mount worked in all of our vehicles. In each case I needed to use one of the three included Sub Pads to ensure a tight fit in the CD holder. Fits CD slots 4mm-6mm

To ensure a secure fit, 3 different sizes of sub pads are included. (1.5mm, 2.0mm & 2.5mm) To test the fit in each vehicle, I wiggled the phone holder. If I could pull it out of the CD slot, I tried a different size sub pad and used the one the held the phone holder tightly & securely in the CD slot. CDs can be played while using this holder; however the phone holder will need to be removed to insert or remove CDs from the CD player.

I first tried installing this smartphone holder in our Malibu. I was getting frustrated because I could easily pull the mount out. I have bought several products from RAM, all of them good to great. This one is on the low-end of RAM mounts.

Suction Cup: the design of the suction cup is by far the best I've seen on the market. It's way more solid than the tom-tom and hasn't ever fallen off my windshield.

X-Grip: This is a fairly creative solution to hold a wide array of devices securely. It's not as good as a custom grip, but it works. You need to be careful in where you place the rubber fingers. It's easy to mount on top of a button. I have a series of 15 images of my windshield and the suction cup on my phone from when I mounted my phone and the grip continuously held down the camera button. If I reposition the phone, I might be holding down the volume button. I also have to watch out for the power connector. Pick your poison.

Arm: This part was a little disappointing. I was expecting the higher quality aluminum arm that came with my other RAM mounts. The arm design is...

1. Great idea for phone mount but...
I love the mount, using the console cup holder is a great idea, but no matter how much I tighten the base, there's still a slight wobble. I realize not all cup holders are the same: there are three in my car's console and all are different sizes. It's only a small wobble.

The only other issue I have with the device is power. I love the powered USB ports built in to the base of the holder. I even found a 6-inch USB cable that's perfect. I do wish the device would charge at the AC charging rates (~1A) rather than the USB rate (~500mA). I typically use my phone for navigation and to stream music while driving. Doing both while charging from this device uses more current than the charger supplies, running the phone's battery down on long trips.

Otherwise, this is a welcome addition to my car.

Convient in Mazda CX-5 with Galaxy Note 2
I use this in my 2013 Mazda CX-5 for displaying and charging my "LARGE and IN-CHARGE" Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
The set-up in my Mazda CX-5 is perfect for this type of mount. The cup holder is in the center console and very easily reachable while driving.
Make sure that you check your vehicle settings before buying this though, my old VW Jetta 2002 had a WIRE-FRAME FLIP-OUT CUP HOLDER and this thing definetely wouldn' work in it. USB cHarging is as good as my Galaxy Note's AC charger. The head is adjustable to be in landscape or vertical.
This thing also let's you plug in a passenger's phone to charge. All around great product.

You've no doubt noticed that most of the companies that make cell phone peripherals just crap poorly-designed junk out of the lowest-bidder Chinese factory, or even worse, rebrand somebody else's steaming turd as their own. I've gone through a half-dozen mounts from both no-name to brand-name and ended up returning them all.

My BMW probably doesn't help. It's got a dashboard with a pebbled/textured finish. It's not perfectly flat. And I drive like a jerk. The latter is a crucial point of failure for mounts with a longer reach that multiply the leverage of a heavy phone on a suction cup. Read: mount (with phone attached) goes flying off to the side, usually into my passenger's face.

I figured this one had physics working in its favor off the bat, being so short (but I was a tad worried about it having the phone out of reach). Turns out that's not a problem. Neither is the AMAZING grip on the dashboard side. As others mentioned, it's a suction cup AND an (reusable)...

2. The only one of 4 models I've tried that works!
I ended up purchasing four different car phone holders before I found one that works - that sticks to my dashboard, holds my IPhone 4, makes it relatively easy, with one hand, to insert the phone and remove it. And it stays stuck to the dashboard. I drive a late model Subaru Outback and after placing and testing the mount in many different locations, I found the most convenient one for me was mounted to the dash on left side of the steering wheel.

Great with Galaxy Note & iPhone
I just started using this one about 3 days ago. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this item. You can operate it with one hand for iPhone, but it requires you to use two hands to open it for the larger Galaxy Note. I attached it on Nissan Altima's textured dashboard, and it hangs on perfectly. Two things I noted were.. if you want to remove it from your dashboard, it's not quite easy since the suction cup is a bit sticky. And when you drive with your phone on this item, it wobbles a little tiny bit, but not much and it does not bother me at all. I'm thinking about buying another one for my wife.

Pros:

Finally one that adheres!
I've tried a couple of different windshield mounts and none of them adhered for a long period of time without falling. This one uses a pad that really sticks and doesn't leave any residue when removed; it fits my Galaxy Note II perfectly. It's a great value for an item that works.

The seller's customer service is outstanding! Not only did they respond immediately, they kept me updated, sent me the new version quickly, and emailed again to make sure I received it.

There is very little jiggling with the new version, no more than I had with my GPS suction-mounted on my dashboard, when it actually stuck to the dashboard (couldn't put it on the windshield). I finally chucked that thing out the window one day because I was so tired of it falling off after 30 minutes. (It was a symbolic gesture: I was in my driveway and it landed on the grass.)

I started using my smartphone as a GPS, but I didn't feel safe picking it up to look at it, so I relied on the audio. And when I played music from my phone through my car stereo, I had to wait until I was at a stop light to fish around for it and pick it up so I could skip songs.

Like others have said - just buy it.
I use this phone holder for my Note II. My Note is big, somewhat heavy in its case, and I was worried this would not hold it. I don't drive on rocky terrain, but I do hit my share of potholes and this thing has never failed me in the 6 weeks or so that I've had it. My wife tried it out for her Samsung S4 and I had to buy her one or risk losing mine. There may be better ones out there, but I haven't found one. It's secure, easy to slip your phone on to it and remove it, it maintains your access to you connections such as a output plug and a charger, in short, it does all you could ask for. I'd get another if I ever lose this one, and that's about as good as endorsement as I could give.

I recently purchased one of black iphone mount from local at&t store but I didn't quite like it because my iphone 4 is white and I wanted to match the mount's color with my iphone. Luckly, I found this one in amazon, so I bought it last week and I'm using this one for my garmin gps app in my nissan altima. One thing I like about this mount is that it doesn't require a sticky pad which you usually have to attach it to the dashboard and honestly, I hated the pad on my car b/c it was ugly.. However, this one was pretty easy for me to install w/o needing of any sticky pad and I just pushed button at the back to secure it and of course, it works perfectly so far.. Anyway, above all pros and cons(haven't found any yet..), I like the color of this product and that was the main reason I bought this product for my car(only white mount I have found in amazon) and I absolutely love it!

I bought the iOttie EasyView after having a great experience with iOttie Easy One Touch. Did that mainly for the looks. That was a bad decision :( Should have gone for another One Touch.

The EasyVIew is easy to install and view, and looks better than the OneTouch. It sticks, from what I can tell, just as good (or as bad, if you are trying to remove it) the OneTouch: near impossible to remove. If/when you manage to remove it from the dash/windshield, it comes off clean - no residues at all. Putting your phone on the mount is just as easy as OneTouch. Those are all good.

The problem is with removing your phone. Unlike the OneTouch, the EasyView requires you to pull on one of the "arms" on the side. The problem with that is, it exerts severe pressure on the "neck" and the "foot" of the mount. In my case, the foot really held on well, but the "neck" didn't. No matter how tight I set it, after removing the phone a couple of times, the neck turns to whichever side you...

2. Super adaptable
I've been using this with several different rental cars and an iPhone 5. It feels very minimalistic for keeping in my luggage and love that it sticks to the dash.

On my first use, I did have a really hard time getting it off the dashboard and was a little concerned. However, it didn't leave any marks behind and has kept working with other cars. They recommend washing the suction cup with soap and water and I found that helps keep it working well when I switch cars. (The material reminds me off the little sticky bouncy balls that you get out of gum ball machines and stick against walls).

Amazing grip and svelte aesthetics
Like others, I was very impressed with the grip of this device compared to traditional suction cup mounts. I ordered this just before taking a 14-hour road trip, and not once did this mount show any signs of budging, even with removing and re-inserting my phone several times over the course of the trip.

I was a little concerned over how well it would hold my phone (a Samsung Galaxy S III with an Acase Superleggera Hybrid Case) when I was comparing it to the iOttie One Touch Universal Car Mount on Amazon. You've no doubt noticed that most of the companies that make cell phone peripherals just crap poorly-designed junk out of the lowest-bidder Chinese factory, or even worse, rebrand somebody else's steaming turd as their own. I've gone through a half-dozen mounts from both no-name to brand-name and ended up returning them all.

My BMW probably doesn't help. It's got a dashboard with a pebbled/textured finish. It's not perfectly flat. And I drive like a jerk. The latter is a crucial point of failure for mounts with a longer reach that multiply the leverage of a heavy phone on a suction cup. Read: mount (with phone attached) goes flying off to the side, usually into my passenger's face.

I figured this one had physics working in its favor off the bat, being so short (but I was a tad worried about it having the phone out of reach). Turns out that's not a problem. Neither is the AMAZING grip on the dashboard side. As others mentioned, it's a suction cup AND an (reusable)...

2. The only one of 4 models I've tried that works!
I ended up purchasing four different car phone holders before I found one that works - that sticks to my dashboard, holds my IPhone 4, makes it relatively easy, with one hand, to insert the phone and remove it. And it stays stuck to the dashboard. I drive a late model Subaru Outback and after placing and testing the mount in many different locations, I found the most convenient one for me was mounted to the dash on left side of the steering wheel.

The three models that would not stick to the dashboard, anywhere I tried, are as follows (I returned them to Amazon without a problem:)

Great with Galaxy Note & iPhone
I just started using this one about 3 days ago. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this item. You can operate it with one hand for iPhone, but it requires you to use two hands to open it for the larger Galaxy Note. I attached it on Nissan Altima's textured dashboard, and it hangs on perfectly. Two things I noted were.. if you want to remove it from your dashboard, it's not quite easy since the suction cup is a bit sticky. And when you drive with your phone on this item, it wobbles a little tiny bit, but not much and it does not bother me at all. I'm thinking about buying another one for my wife.

Pros:
- Easy to install
- Very strong suction
- Holds large phones (Galaxy Note - 3.27" width)

Cons:
- Wobbles a tiny bit, but negligible

I got this because it specifically mentioned compatibility with my new Galaxy S3. I would love to be able to keep it but the side bars are directly over the power and volume toggles so every time I put the phone it it turns my audio all the down. I will be returning it and can't recommend it for anyone who has a Galaxy S3

UPDATE: I received a call from iOttie the same day I placed my original one star review. I discussed my issue with the design and the product being sold for the S3. They not only sent me a new mount which worked with my phone they took the Galaxy S3 off the product description. I can only hope that a company as responsive and capable as this experiences tremendous success. My ne mount works great. It is well constructed, well designed and sticks to my dashboard like it is welded to it.

2. Works well, just tight with the Otterbox
My main concern when purchasing was that it would not work with the OtterBox. I can place the phone in the mount with the OtterBox Defender case on it. You just about have to pry it to get the phone in and out. The quick release doesn't really work since it is so tight in the mount. I really don't have an issue with that just wanted to let others know how it works with the OtterBox case.

2. Great solution to universal docks!
I don't usually write reviews but the imagnet deserves one.

I had been looking for a simple, clutter free, one handed solution for docking my phone in my car. Ive tried universal docks which end up falling apart or losing their grip. Ive tried a specifically made dock but they're too tight to use with a case.

Im not using the suction mount aspect (so i wont be talking about it). I took off the magnet and mounted it directly to my dash.
-Magnet is super strong
-metal disks are extremely thin (was surprised how thin)
-fits between my phone and case

The beauty of it is I get in my car and just slap it on the magnet. No fuss, no adjusting.

Case thickness does affect the strength of hold however. So if you have a bulky case (otterbox), you might consider a different case or just mounting the magnet to the back. Its thin enough to not even notice.

Great mounting mechanism
Perfect way to mount my iphone on my car dashboard. I've used holders with suction cups before but it would only hold well on glass surfaces. The suction cup on the imagnet has a sticky layer that makes it possible to use on my textured dashboard. It's good how the holder doesn't block my vision now. I like how this holder doesn't have any brackets that block the volume and silent buttons on the side of the phone. The mount provides sufficient support in all directions including upside down.

The magnetic snapping action is really sweet and I don't even have to look at where I'm mounting my phone to anymore. With other mounts I needed two hands, one hand to hold the phone, and the other hand to open the clamps.

However:
- There's no interference issues with my iphone from the magnets, but it does cause temporary loss of direction in the MAPS app.

PROS:
- The mount is very small in size and compacts nicely when closed so it doesn't take up much space
- You can easily rotate the arm to just about any viewing angle, and turn the phone around from a portrait to landscape view without removing anything
- The pincher is able to hold very large phones, including my Samsung Galaxy S3 (with a case on it)
- The suction cup is very strong: it was able to attach to my dash, which has a textured surface, and not fall off on a long trip

CONS:
- The suction cup is very strong: they provide a small tab on the back for you to pull to remove the suction cup (after you twist the dial), but even still, it can be very difficult to pry it lose if it has a great seal to the surface it's on
- If you have a stiff suspension like in my car, the phone will sometimes jiggle around a bit (although this more a fault of the car than the mount)

2. Simple yet elegant car mount for the iPhone 5
After I upgraded to the iPhone 5, I needed a car mount as my Magellan car mount is no longer compatible due to the lightning port and the phone being taller. This car mount is easy to use, extremely portable, and works with different devices and not just the iPhone 5, which is great so you don't have to buy a new mount whenever you buy a new phone. You can securely mount it on your windshield or dashboard. The sticky pad is really sticky. I mount it on the windshield, and I had to pull it really hard to get it off. But I mount mine on the dashboard since it's closer to eye level, and it's easier to reach than mounting it on a windshield. I have a textured dashboard, and it mounts without any problem. The mount has two arms to secure the phone without any support at the bottom. I prefer a mount without any extra support down at the bottom so you can access all the ports without that getting in the way. Holds great but affect bluetooth
To start, I got the product in a timely manner (about a week).

I was worried about the clasp part of the product not being strong enough to squeeze my phone. My next worry was the phone slipping out of the grasp of the clasp. I think both of the worries were resolved when I noticed the clasp is quite strong and there are sticky grips on the clasp as well. Despite the bumps, its held onto my phone very tightly. So no problem here. There is a 'one-handed' mount feature which is nice. There is a release button in the middle of the mount face that, when pushed in, releases the clasp and grabs the phone. Nice for getting in the car and putting the phone in without fussing with the clasps.

The swivel is great. Let's you angle and tilt basically any way you need (assuming you mount the iOttie pointing in the general direction you want/need). The swivel is strong too so you won't have to worry about a bump causing a re-angling or re-tilting of the mount.

2. Suction cup better than super glue.
One handed mounting is very convenient. The mount seems to be made of a good quality plastic with strong knobs and hinges. It holds the iPhone 4s in an Acase(TM) iPhone 4 and 4S Superleggera PRO Dual Layer Protection (Black/Black) case (Fits AT&T, Sprint and Verizon iPhone 4 and 4S) with a the charging cable attached. Excellent - all my requirements met.

However, the suction cup is almost ridiculous the way it sticks to flat smooth surfaces. After the first application, it is not coming off without some time and effort prying it away (and, yes the suction lock lever was released). I would suggest using a crowbar. It might loosen it's grip with time as some debris accumulates on the surface but that's definitely not the case when new.

My initial plan was to store the mount in the glove box after each use but then I quickly realized that was just not practical. I applied it a second time and plan to leave it there until it falls off. I'm fairly sure the zombie...

What a great product for my Galaxy S3!
I am so very impressed by this car mount! I have a brand new Samsung Galaxy S III which is a pretty large phone. I have been searching for the right car mount forever and reading reviews of several different makers and models. This is the only one of which I couldn't find a complaint that it didn't fit or it was too wobbly or that the thing just didn't stick to the car surface well. And guess what? It's true! This is a firm holder that sticks like crazy (don't worry, it comes off ...eventually with a lot of muscle, it's just suction device so it won't harm you car interior). The only problem I had was I could get it to stick to the vinyl dash board of my Mini Cooper which is not exactly known for interior real estate. I finally decided on the plexi-glass that covers the gigantic speedometer in the center of my dashboard. It has held really well for a couple of days now, even in the heat of a 105 degree Southern California Summer. It makes me giddy thinking about how cool my car mount...
